Intro.: ÿÿCommon ÿpattern ÿin the epistles is to divide the ÿbook ÿinto ÿa
section of Doctrine (where great truths about God, ÿChrist, or the
Plan ÿof ÿthe ÿAges are developed) ÿand a section ÿof ÿApplication
(where ÿactions are urged on the basis of those truths). ÿChapter
12 ÿÿbegan ÿthe ÿapplicational section of Hebrews ÿas ÿthe ÿwriter
argued, ÿÿon the basis of the superiority of the new ÿCovenant ÿin
every ÿway to the old, ÿthat no Christian should every ÿturn ÿback
from ÿthe ÿfaith ÿno ÿmatter what ÿpersecutions ÿhe ÿmust ÿendure.
Chapter ÿ13 ÿÿcontinues with application but rather than ÿusing ÿa
rifle ÿwith one primary message to deliver (as in chapter 12) ÿthe
writer ÿhere ÿuses a shotgun and says, ÿ"Here are several ÿof ÿthe
things you need to be doing."
These ÿare things which need to be priorities for us according
to the writer of Hebrews.

now!
