INTRODUCTION: JESUS' EXAMPLE OF HOW TO WITNESS TO THE LOST

I. HE LOOKED UPON HIM -- WE MUST SEE THE WORLD AS JESUS SEES IT

A. He had previously talked to the young man - Now, behold him.

B. We must see the world as,

1. Our neighbor

2. An Eternal Soul

3. Doomed without God's help

II. HE LOVED HIM -- WE MUST SEE THE WORLD AS INDIVIDUAL SOULS

A. God loved us so much that,

1. He traded His Son for us

2. He called until we answered

3. He adopted us into His family

B. We must love others

1. We must not love their sinful ways

2. We must not fellowship in their sin

3. We must love them for what they can become

C. This kind of love requires God's help

1. Not "eros" love (fleshly love)

2. Not "phileo" love (brotherly love - no relation)

3. This is "agape" love (the divine love)

III. HE LED HIM TO THE POINT OF CHOICE - WE CAN DO NO MORE

A. Not a bunch of "put-downs"

1. Some folks will point out every fault and scare away

2. Some want the fish cleaned before they catch them

B. Show how to receive great rewards ("Do this and be blessed")

1. We have sinned and are guilty

2. Death is the proper penalty

3. Jesus died to pay that debt

4. We receive pardon by accepting Christ's sacrifice

5. As sons of God, we can draw from heaven's treasury

C. Each person must make his own choice.

1. No one can be forced to accept Christ

2. We pray for them that God will continue dealing with them

3. Conviction proves that He is still calling

CONCLUSION: JESUS LOOKED, LOVED, LED

A. Looked upon his pitiful situation

B. Loved him with divine love

C. Led him to make a choice

D. We must use all opportunities to follow His example
