INTRODUCTION: III. ABRAHAM'S CHILDREN GO WHERE HE IS

A. Jesus offered the Jews FREEDOM (v. 32) A. Abraham's bosom (before the cross)

B. Jews claimed never in bondage (v. 33) B. Paradise (prior to rapture)

C. They said, "Abraham is our father" (v. 39) B. Heaven & Eternity (after the rapture)

D. Jesus said, "If ye were Abraham's children,

ye would do the works of Abraham" (v. 39) SUMMARY: The true Jew (Ro. 2:26-29)

A. "Circumcision is that of the heart"

I. ABRAHAM'S CHILDREN DO AS HE DID B. "Whose praise is not of men, but of God"

A. Father of the faithful (Gal. 3:6-7)

1. "Abraham believed God, and it was accounted

to him for righteousness"

2. "They which are of faith, the same are the

children of Abraham"

B. "Friend of God" (James 2:21-23)

1. "Abraham our father [was] justified by

works, when he had offered Isaac his son

upon the altar"

2. "Faith wrought with his works, and by works

was faith made perfect"

3. "Abraham believed God, and it was imputed

unto him for righteousness"

II. ABRAHAM'S CHILDREN INHERIT HIS ESTATE

A. Covenant with God (Gen 17:1-10)

1. Land of Canaan given

2. Father many nations-exceeding fruitful

3. Protection: "touch not mine anointed"

(2 Ch. 16:21)

4. Last for 1000 generation (2 Ch. 16:15)

B. Sign to be CIRCUMCISION

C. "Finding fault with [the first covenant], he

saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord,

when I will make a new covenant" (Heb. 8:8)

D. Heb. 8:13, "In that he saith, A new covenant,

he hath made the first old. Now that which

decayeth & waxeth old is ready to vanish away."

E. "The promise, that he should be the heir of the

world, was not...through the law, but through

the righteousness of faith" (Ro. 4:13)

F. "For us also...if we believe on him that raised

up Jesus...from the dead" ==see Ro. 4:21-24==
