[Footnote *: Compare  the very curious Armenian elegy on the
          fall  of Constantinople,  translated  by  M.  Bore,  in  the
          Journal Asiatique for March, 1835; and by M. Brosset, in the
          new edition of  Le Beau, (tom. xxi. p. 308.) The author thus
          ends his poem:  "I, Abraham, loaded with sins, have composed
          this elegy with  the  most  lively  sorrow;  for I have seen
